DJ is one of the “Old” members of HOG, now rolling into his 19th year of membership.

Some say “old” applies in more ways than one, now he is in his 68th year! Despite this, DJ maintains his youthful outlook on life and enjoys it to the fullest.

He is famous for his devotion to the Road King - having owned more than 10 and ridden over 500,000k’s on HD’s.

He is (almost) as devoted to Claire and says her assistance has been invaluable in everything he has ever done.

He is proud to be the founding member of Sunshine Coast HOG and was honoured with the Chapter’s first Life Membership.

DJ has spent 8½ years on HOG Committees, having held the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, Editor and 4½ years as a Director. In addition, he has served on two State and one National Rally Committees including being the co-ordinator of the popular 2005 Queensland State Rally.

In recent years he and Claire have ridden in many parts of the world – USA (most recently for Sturgis’ 70th Anniversary) – NZ – UK – Western Europe and every State in Australia. They look forward to resuming their extended riding holidays when DJ steps down again from the Director’s role.

Their daughters share the family interest in all things Harley-Davidson. Kelly who rides a Fat Bob has just completed a term as the Chapter’s Historian/Photographer, while her sister Lisa is on the back of a bike whenever time away from her children allows, and has filled in as Chapter Photographer when needed.

Finally – Does DJ spend all his time on HOG? – well no – he has a confession to make - being a strong supporter of the Broncos and all things Maroon, he attends every Broncos home game and State of Origin game played in Qld.
