Merv fulfilled his dream in 2004 when he purchased his first Harley-Davidson a 2005 Wide Glide. This wasn't the only time, however, that Merv has reached for the stars and realised his dream. He has been riding for 55years and enjoyed every one of them.

He has owned or ridden most brands of bike including English, European, Japanese and American. From a lightweight Montessa 172cc Trials bike through to the heavyweight Ultra, which has only just been run in with 80,000klms on the clock.

Not too many of today's members would know what his first bike (a 1949 model 350cc Ariel Red Hunter single) even looked like.

A member of HOG since 2004. Previously he has held the position of Editor of Sunshine Coast HOG.

Born at Toombul before the baby boomers, he spent his early years in Kedron. Following twenty six years in the Military he retired 17 years ago, and now resides in Caboolture.

Merv is married to Jacq , they have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.

His interests are broad and varied. He likes to follow the Rodeo, to travel and to enjoy a challenge.
