Our Ladies of Harley Officer, Lyn, was born in Essendon Victoria, brought up on 5 acres and admits to being a ‘Mexican’. Lyn says ‘I wish I could say that being a biker was in my blood but alas not, my parents said “You will own a bike over our dead bodies”'. Lyn was 15 when she owned her first bike after being a horse rider for some years - “Without much success” we are told. After a couple of years not riding, becoming a Mother and living in Bendigo, Lyn volunteered to help arrange accommodation for “The Long Ride 2007”, and joined this fund-raising ride benefiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Although Lyn really enjoyed the open road and camaraderie – the real bonuses were meeting Curt and being introduced to Harley-Davidson. Lyn often laughs with her friend who introduced her to the HD, that it’s “Her fault I owe the Bank!” Following her adventures on the RFDS Charity event, Lyn became involved in the “Rumble to the Rock” in 2008. Lyn has travelled to many countries including Europe, USA, NZ and many parts of Asia and says “The best is yet to come as Curt and I are off in the next couple of years on an extensive ride around the world.” Lyn moved to Manly, Queensland at the beginning of 2008 after a 25 year dream to live in Qld, but soon relocated to the Sunshine Coast. To quote Lyn “There is no better place to live and wake up overlooking the ocean.” Lyn has been a Sunshine Coast Member since June 2008, following a 6 months membership with Brisbane Chapter. When asked about Sunshine Coast HOG Lyn said “The camaraderie of the Chapter is great, a credit to the committee. I have met some wonderful friends and look forward to the future of the Group. I also look forward to my role as Ladies of Harley Officer and the adventures that we will take.” |
