Geoff Sargood Lipstick Photographer/Historian 2005 2006 Softail |
Geoff Sargood, known to some as “lipstick” (but that's a story for another day) joined SCHOG in 2005 after some encouragement from Dizzy & Barb to get onto a Harley. Married to Leonie for 18 years they have 4 sons between them and 6.5 grandchildren (0.5 is due in July). Grandie sleepovers have become a regular occurrence and although limiting riding opportunities in recent times have been very rewarding. Geoff & Leonie migrated to Queensland from Victoria in January 1991, they initially settled in Stanthorpe commencing work with Suncorp in April of that year. They then transferred to Bundaberg, Goondiwindi, Gympie, Nambour and finally Maroochydore where after nearly 20 years accepted a redundancy in October 2010. After a relaxing 5 months off Leonie decided it was time for Geoff to get back to work before he drove her mad. He commenced with ANZ Business Banking in Maroochydore in March this year. After 25 years on dirt bikes and at least 10 years off bikes getting back to riding was the last thing on Geoff's mind until an aimless drive to Brisbane found them the proud owners of a 100year anniversary Low Rider. They rode two up for 12 months until Leonie decided she needed to be on the front, taking delivery of her sportie in April 2006. The Low Rider was traded for a 2006 Soft-tail standard which someone decided they liked more than Geoff about 18 months later. Luckily Shannons were excellent and a replacement 2006 “softie” was found soon after. Riding continues to be an important part of our lives with the freedom and friendships it brings and we look forward to visiting friends and touring Tasmania in the not too distant future. |
